This program takes you to Yajiro Kokeshi Village in Shiroishi City, where a government-certified Master of Traditional Craft will personally guide you. Guests will learn about the origins of kokeshi dolls, the characteristics of different lineages, and key points for appreciation.
You will then tour the artisan’s workshop, observe a live demonstration of traditional techniques, and even try your hand at part of the production process.Finally,under the direct guidance of the master, you will craft your own finely finished kokeshi doll an exclusive opportunity to produce a one-of-a-kind handmade piece to take home. This is a unique cultural experience available only in Shiroishi.
