This luxury tour offers an unforgettable 3-day, 2-night journey. Beginning with a samurai welcome, you will immerse yourself in samurai heritage, savor exclusive dining in a cultural treasure, take part in traditional woodworking crafts, and unwind in a luxury suite with a private open-air bath.
■ Day 1|A Samurai Welcome & Castle Dinner Like No Other
Upon arrival at Shiroishi-Zao Station, samurai in full armor will greet you as tonosama (honored lords). You will be guided to Shiroishi Castle, where you can don samurai armor yourself. A ceremonial welcome then follows, featuring a celebratory matchlock gun salute by the Katakura Matchlock Gun Corps (in case of rain, the salute will be replaced with a performance).
After a guided tour of Shiroishi Castle, the castle will be reserved exclusively for your party. Enjoy a special dinner supervised by the head chef of THE YUKAWA, featuring an exclusive castle-only menu crafted with carefully selected ingredients from Miyagi and the Tohoku region. Your preferences can be shared in advance for a customized dining experience. Accompanied by a live Tsugaru shamisen performance, the illuminated night view from the castle tower will complete this once-in-a-lifetime evening.

■ Day 2|Traditional Craftsmanship & Samurai Residence Lunch
After breakfast at THE YUKAWA, head to Yajiro Kokeshi Village for a special program with a government-certified Master of Traditional Craft. Learn about the origins, lineages, and appreciation of kokeshi dolls, observe live demonstrations in the artisan’s workshop, and even try your hand at part of the production process. Under the master’s direct guidance, you will craft your own unique kokeshi—a one-of-a-kind keepsake to take home.
For lunch, enjoy a Shiroishi Umen premium course at the 300-year-old Katakura Clan Samurai Residence, prepared by Yamabuki-tei, renowned for hosting guests of JR East’s luxury train, Train Suite Shiki-shima. This exclusive meal highlights historic Shiroishi Umen noodles, paired with seasonal delicacies from Zao.
In the afternoon, visit Zao Sake Brewery for a guided tour and sake tasting. Return to THE YUKAWA to relax in your suite with a private open-air bath, embraced by tranquility.

■ Day 3|A Gentle Morning & Farewell
Spend a leisurely morning in your room before check-out.
You will then be transferred to Shiroishi-Zao Station, where the tour concludes.
This tour brings together the living legacy of samurai culture in Shiroishi—history, craftsmanship, gourmet dining, and hot springs—blended with the highest level of Japanese hospitality. It promises an extraordinary journey that will remain in your heart.
